Mandi Bahauddin: July 6, 2011. (Sher Gondal) Revenue officials continued strike for the 7th day. Patwaries dozens in number have made the district administration hostage. They have been running a strike camp in front of AC office and they have jammed almost all government departments resulting in suffering of the public. To show solidarity with Patwaries all district revenue officers and staff except Collector of district participated in the strike. It may be mentioned that Khalid Sahi brother of Tariq Sahi MPA allegedly misbehaved with Arif Anjum Tehsildar and patwaris. Patwaris skipped the work and established a strike camp in protest against the accused. They demanded registration of case which on recommendation of Collector of the Distract Amin Chaudhry was registered. They demanded arrest of the accused Khalid. Khalid surrendered before the High Court with bail petition and he was granted bail. With it patwaris were left with no plausible cause to continue strike but they still continued strike to show off their nuisance to all. Collector of district has not played any role to resolve the conflict between the parties except watching the show as silent spectator. Earlier the MPA blamed revenue officials including Collector of the district for misappropriating public funds. Social circles have condemned revenue officials for continuing strike with out any valid ground. They said the revenue officials, in fact are on war against the MPA to defend their corrupt practices. They demanded of the government to bring an end to strike by revenue staff and deduct their pay for the period they skipped work.
