Islamabad: June 17, 2011. (PCP) Julius Salik Convener World Minorities Alliance And Former Federal Minister said it has happen for the first time in the history of Pakistan that Kamran Micheal , a selected member of the minorities was allowed to present budget in the elected Provincial Assembly of Punjab. Mr. J.Salik said has the Muslim League (N) leader ever considered the injustice done to the minorities by (G) Perveiz Musharaf, when he increased the seats of majorities from 207 to 272, similarly he also increased the ladies seats from 10 to 60 but miserably he failed to increase any seats for the minorities and he also passed and ordinance to bring the minorities to selection instead of election this is a slap on the face of democracy and the assemblies are not 100 % democratic. Democracy in our country is very strange Selection of Minorities is violation against law of chosen representation, we cannot call it democratic as the on the 28 September 2010 at an hearing on the case against 18th amendment chief justice himself while giving his remarks said, that choosing of the minorities members in the Parliament is against the article 226. Mr.Salik said we have to promote democracy instead of religion in order to save countries from destruction as Britain has set an excellent example to the world by electing 13 minority members from indigenous and majority communities through direct votes Furthermore, the ruling party has elected a minority Muslim woman as their chairperson.. Therefore if the of the Muslim league (N) leader is really sympathetic towards the Minorities he must reinstate the election system on 10 reserved seats for minorities to provide them with real democracy and set an example to the world.
