Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society leaders condemn propaganda against Armed Forces

Mandi Bahauddin: June 13, 2011. (By Gangly Khan) Qadarabad union council ex-servicemen held a convention at Qadarabad town under arrangements of Pakistan Ex-servicemen Society Phalia. Sher Tarar president Pakistan Ex-servicemen Society Phalia preside the convention. Naik Bashir the most senior soldier age wise among the convention was the chief guest. Above fifty ex-servicemen participated in the convention. While addressing the convention participants condemned propaganda campaign against Pakistan Armed Forces that was launched by some people for their vested interests. They said some people on the behest of enemies of the country are all out to defame the army. They warned such mischievous elements to end the propaganda since it will be dangerous for the integrity of the country. They said that ex-servicemen stand united with the army and will not allow anyone to tarnish image of armed forces. They said the nation is aware of sacrifices of the army soldiers in defense of the country and it knows how vital army is for the nation. While referring to their problems, they said more than thirty thousands ex-servicemen reside in Mandi district. There was only one dispensary working at Mandi Bahauddin which was not sufficient to provide satisfactory treatment to ex-servicemen and their family members. They demanded of government to establish a hospital for the ex-servicemen preferable at Phalia. They complained employment against new and vacant seats is done on the recommendation of political leaders who always give priority to their relatives and eulogists. They demanded restoration of quota for ex-servicemen in government service. They further said most of ex-servicemen worked as security guards on petrol and gas stations against a paltry amount of salary. They demanded that their pay should be not less than Rs. 15000 per month with conveyance allowance. They appreciated Punjab government for introducing yellow cab scheme under employment policy and demanded for quota for each district on the basis of their population. Participants of the convention unanimously elected Sub Ismail and Hav Arif as President and General Secretary of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society Union Council Qadarabad. Major Sher Muhammad District President, Major Nasir Javed Senior Vice President Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society Mandi Bahauddin also addressed the convention and congratulated Qadarabad ex-servicemen to organize them at the platform of the society They congratulated Sub Ismail and have Arif on their election as president and general secretary respectively. They said similar convention will be arranged in each union council of the district to unite ex=servicemen. They asked those involved in demoralizing army to end their malicious propaganda. They said situation is turning explosive and civil war is knocking the door. If army turns weak no one else will be able to control the situation.
