Islamabad: June 3, 2011. (PCP) Convener World Minorities Alliance and Former Federal Minister J.Salik, strongly reacted to the demand to ban the Holy Bible made by the leader of Jamiat-Ulema-e- Islam, (Samiul Haq Group) Mulana Abdul Rauf in a press conference in Lahore .
Mr.J.Salik, said agreeing to such a demand would be interfering in the religious matters of the Christian religion and violation of religious freedom fully guaranteed by the constitution and United Nations.
The Former Minister further said that the demand would sow seeds of discord among different. He also Stated that the Christians all over the world including the global heads of the Churches i.e. the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury, condemned the heinous act of burning the Holy Quran by a maniac in the US .
The Christian leader him self demanded the Christian community to mourn for 21 days and conducted three different protests against the despicable act of the self styled preacher and presented the summary to the UNO office in Islamabad to take immediate notice and prevent such acts in future.
