Lawyers Vow to continue protest against Session Judge

Mandi Bahauddin: May 31, 2011. (By Sher Gondal) Participants in a lawyers’ meeting on Tuesday vowed to continue protest till the posting out of District and Sessions Judge Mandi Bahauddin. More than 400 lawyers from district bar and sub division bars Phalia and Malikwal attended the meeting which was convened by the Mandi District Bar Association to elicit support against the Mandi Bahauddin District and Sessions Judge who had misbehaved with ex president Phalia Bar Association, Inait Warraich. Despite observing strikes and boycott of courts by local lawyers during the previous two weeks, the authorities concerned have taken no action so far against the judge Speaking at the meeting, Bar president Waseem Maken said that he had requested the judge to clarify his position in the house to settle the issue in honorable manner. But the judge did not take notice of the request and tried to win over support of some lawyers to cause dent in unity of the bar. The judge also instigated his subordinate judges to observe strike to pressurize the bar. He said the judge was now disputable personality and as such he would not be able to decide cases in a transparent manner. Other office-bearers of district and sub divisions bars expressed solidarity with their colleague and vowed to continue the protest and boycott of District Session Judge Court. It was further resolved that on every Thursday boycott of all courts In the district will be observed The speakers included Sher Muhammad Gondal, Aslam Faiz Gondal, Waseem Maken, Farooq Gondal, Fateh Muhammad Gondal, Nasrullah Warriach, and Inait Warriach.
