Islamabad: May 4, 2011. (PCP) Mustaqbil Pakistan MP Chairman Zeyed Sheikh said that Islam guarantees safety of Christians in a gathering of representatives of Pakistani Christians on May 1, 2011. Mustaqbil Pakistan is a new Pakistani political party dedicated to bringing competence, decency, sincerity and honesty to Pakistan's politics. MP's Chairman addressed a gathering of representatives from the Christian Community in Islamabad. In attendance were several senior Church officials including, Father Anwar Patras, Head of the Rawalpindi Diocese, Senior Pastor Basharat Ureem, Head of the Rawalpindi Islamabad Calvary Charismatic Church and Mahboob Alam, Religious Councilor from Rawalpindi The Chairman's address was divided into two parts. In the first part, he talked about the reasons for forming Mustaqbil Pakistan, its goals and objectives, and explained why he was confident that it would succeed. Audio of this part of the address is at this this link. In the second part of his address, he talked about how Islam obliges Muslims to treat non Muslims with respect and dignity. He supported his claim with examples, in Arabic, from the Quran and the Hadeeth which he translated for the audience. He explained that it is a religious obligation for Muslims to guarantee the security, and well being of non Muslims. And, further, to guarantee their right to practice their respective religions without let or hindrance. Audio of this part of his address is at this link.
