New York City: April 26, 2011. (PCP) In this 10 year anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11/01, We, The World, in cooperation with the North America Region of United Religions Initiative, is launching an international campaign culminating with 11 Days of Global Unity, September 11 -21 to inform and influence public dialogue across 11 themes of social change that address the reasons for terrorism and on which a more peaceful, sustainable world can be built.
Additional launch partners and supporters of "11 Days - 11 Ways" include Pathways To Peace and the World Peace Prayer Society. Anticipated participants include the thousands of organizations and individuals that annually take part in 11 Days of Global Unity and the International Day of Peace, September 21st. 11 Days of Global Unity was first launched by We, The World in 2004 with the support of Desmond Tutu, Jane Goodall, Deepak Chopra and many other global thought leaders. 11 Days now annually includes over 700 associated events in more than 60 countries. Never before in history have so many voices spoken out on behalf of changing humanity's direction from one of potential self-destruction to one of building a shared, sustainable culture of peace. Hundreds of thousands of non-governmental organizations around the world advocate on behalf of changing our society, many with extensive grassroots networks. This year these organizations will be able to unite through this campaign in an unprecedented international collaboration to raise awareness and take aligned action.
Officially launched on March 11 at the commemoration of the life of the late Robert Muller of the UN, the 11 Days - 11 Ways campaign will be active over a 6-month period. 11 themes are being used as focusing points for initiatives large and small to fit themselves into the larger picture of voices calling for change. In September, each theme will be associated with one of the 11 days beginning with 9/11 and culminating on 9/21, the International Day of Peace as designated by the UN.

Major public press conferences and other events will be hosted on each of the 11 Days in September to highlight the actions and momentum of the campaign’s thousands of partnering organizations and individuals related to each theme.
According to Rick Ulfik, Founder of We, The World, "As we approach the 10th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11, we have a unique opportunity to build a coordinated movement that can engage and inform the public about going beyond the inevitable discussions about the 'War on Terror' to support effective solutions that can create a culture of peace and environmental stewardship."
Sandy Westin, Regional Coordinator for United Religions Initiative in North America said, "This campaign addresses multiple sub-themes of peace and unity such as the environment, interfaith relations, human rights, and sustainable development. It will draw on the work and wisdom of organizations which specialize in being agents of change in each of those areas. "
Organizers invite individuals, groups, donors and sponsors to "Adopt A Day Theme" and join in building this unifying movement for change. The campaign’s website at www.WE.net/11days is globally accessible for registration and compilation of organizations and individuals whose work is aligned with one or more of the 11 themes. One of the major goals of the campaign is to enable those working on allied goals to find and begin coordinating with one another in unparalleled synergy. It can also enable foundations, companies and philanthropists wishing to sponsor one or more of these themes to find who is producing the best work in each one.
