Islamabad: April 20, 2011. (PCP) The Catholic Church properties were considered to be safe and out of reach of Muslim-Christian land grabbers in Pakistan but recent incident in Islamabad shows that now land mafia is targeting Catholic Church also. A number of valuable properties of Church of Pakistan which represent Protestant factions of Christianity in Pakistan have been sold out through Christian tools of powerful Muslim Mafia in Pakistan. There have been Business Plaza’s or Shopping Centers around many Churches and Schools owned by Church of Pakistan in different cities of Pakistan. There are dozens of cases in higher courts to safe Church properties by different associations but every month a new valuable Church property is being taken by Muslim Land Mafia. When ever any Church of Pakistan property is grabbed by Muslim Land Mafia, a Power of Attorney comes in light on which any Pastor, Bishop or Layman have received millions of Rupees who have fled from Pakistan or under protection of Muslim land mafia. Muslim Land Mafia had powerful backing in government and in every case of Church property grabbing, any Muslim Member of Parliament is found on Tail. The Catholic Church of Pakistan is very strong organization in which Priests are never involved in any land scandals or greed of cash that’s why Islamabad Church scandal have raged Catholic congregates of Islamabad against land grabbers Muslim-Christian land Mafia. The Christian Community in Pakistan became furious when Police approached to arrest one Catholic Priest in Islamabad on April 19, 2011. There have been not any such incident in Pakistan that such First Information Reports FIR have been filed against Catholic Priest on charges of land scandal because Catholic Church and clergy have very clean record in Pakistan. In Islamabad Church Scandal, one Christian is also involved who blames Catholic Priest to write Power of Attorney in his name after receiving 200,000 US Dollars. The amount claimed is by itself a big question mark that who gave such a heavy amount to a Christian Sheltering in Church Compound. How SHO dared to approach a Catholic Priest for arrest and who are behind it? . According to media reports “On Wednesday morning, Father Rehmat Hakim of the Lady Fatima Church, Islamabad, was approached by Maragalla Police station with arrest warrants on a complaint filed by Mushtaq Vicky a resident of a Chapel located in sector G-8, Islamabad” A FIR was registered against Father Hakim stating that he owes 200,000$ US Dollars to Mushtaq Vicky, so he allotted the Chapel property with the consent of Father John Taylor. Father Rehmat Hakim said, "in 1992 Mushtaq Vicky came to the Fatima Church, he met Father John Taylor, he said he was homeless, so we allowed him to stay at a small cottage in the Chapel premises of Sector G-8, Islamabad. After a few years Father Taylor left Pakistan and the charge was handed over to me. Vicky started a Women Rights Organization, we did not bother to ask him to leave the property as there was no one living there. In 2008 I asked Vicky to vacate the property was we need it for the Church, he refused and said he owns it Father Taylor gave it to him. He made fake documents of the property and claims that it was transferred to him. I contacted Father Taylor who refused Vicky’s claim. We warned him of a legal action, so in revenge he has filed a false case saying that he gave 200,000 US Dollars to me and Father John Taylor for safe keeping, as we failed to return him the money, so we gave him the property instead. This is totally wrong, a false case has been made against me." The SHO ( Station House Officer) Margalla Police station Arif Lassi sent the arrest warrants to the lady Fatima Church, but Father Hakim was not at his residence this morning. The Christian Community is furious over the arrest warrants, Father Anwar patras said " this is a conspiracy against the Catholic Church, the catholic properties cannot be sold or transferred, the Bishop and the Diocesan Board are the custodians of the properties, no individual can sell or transfer any property. I personally know Father Rehman Hakim, he has been falsely accused. Father John Taylor helped Mushtaq Vicky on humanitarian grounds, but he took advantage. We will not allow anyone to arrest a Father or any representative of the Church on false cases. We had a meeting with Bishop Rufin Anthony, we will take legal action against Mushtaq Vicky and anyone else involved in defaming the Catholic Church."
