(PCP) Former Federal Minister and Chief of World Minorities Alliance Mr. J Salik writes an open letter to Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General of UNO on sad action of Pastor Terry Jones to burn Koran in Florida: To, The Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon United Nations Organization Islamabad Date: 7th April, 2011 Crux: Interfaith Harmony On 20th March 2011, Terry Jones and Jury of about 30 members committed the offense of desecration of the Holy Quran in Florida. The report said about 30 people were present at a Sunday mock trial of the Holy Quran - while a real copy sat soaking in kerosene until another pastor, Jones’ colleague Wayne Sapp, lit the flames with a barbecue lighter. The burning was carried out by Pastor Wayne Sapp under the supervision of Terry Jones. The jury deliberated for about eight minutes. The book burned for around 10 minutes while some onlookers posed for photos. This time, Jones said he had been “trying to give the Muslim world an opportunity to defend their book,” but did not receive any answer (according to print media published on 22nd marched). Julius Salik, is working for human rights violations and with over 35 yrs of struggle for the freedom of rights for the minorities over the world has strongly condemn the shameful act of Terry Jones in Florida and analyzes it is his responsibility to fight for the rights of over 3 million Muslim minorities (appox.) in USA to keep the relation of love and peace between the majorities and minorities. On 24 March 2011, Mr. Julius Salik held a protest in Islamabad and he fasted to observed an ash day and for three hours and poured ashes over his head and wore sack clothes(jute) as according to the holy bible followed the people of Nineveh City in age of Hazrat Younas (Jonah 3:5) and had a joined prayer session for the peace of minorities in the world and appealed all communities and specially the Christian community to hoist black flags till 21st April in order to mourn for 27 days over the heinous act he also urged the United Nations to take strict action against such activities, he also asked the government of America and Pakistan infact all the countries to fly there flags at half mast for at least a day to express there solidarity. On 1st April 2011, Friday Julius Salik (popularly known as J.Salik) called for the Press Conference in Islamabad press club blackened his face as it commensurates to blackened the face of humanity to bring in notice of the world and specially the United Nations the sensitivity of this issue as it could be of a great danger for the peace of the minorities of the world as it is a conspiracy and in this matter he appealed the United Nations to fix a day to promote religious harmony and tolerance and add it as an subject of interfaith harmony in the syllabus of the world, he also said that United Nations should issue international convention against disrespect of any religion of the world . He said, the crux of the message of Jesus Christ is peace and love therefore no Christian can tolerate an act of this kind. He demanded the U.S President as being the most powerful leader in the world to take a strict action against the culprit in order to promote religious harmony and also pleaded the government functionaries to knot a black tie till April 21st to express grief and during this period his volunteers helped him fly black flags in some of the places of Islamabad, he urged all the Muslims and Christian to stay united at this point of time and understand the conspiracy behind the despicable act and also quoted that he would remind urself again on 7th April 2011, to take an urgent and strict notice of the incident so that no mishap would take place in Pakistan as well, as the hatred among the religions is increasing day by day On 7th April, 2011 Thursday Mr.J.Salik is hanging himself on 10 feet long and 8 feet wide (respectively) dove of peace he is dressed in black surrounded with children holding banners and slogan of love and peace and photos of Ban Ki-moon demanding him to initiate immediate remedial measures to convert the rapidly increasing violence and hatred into love and peace among races. He is declaring that in all corners of the world majorities and minorities live together, but in the absence of adequate representation of minorities in the United Nations, where ever there is cruelty against minorities, it is not tackled appropriately, so there is no end to atrocity against minorities. Purpose of this protest is to express that not only Christians of Pakistan but the humanity is in great trouble and danger of destruction. He is urging the UN secretary general to have an emergent meeting as so to over come the rapidly increasing violence and Fix a day to promote interfaith harmony and add interfaith harmony as a subject in the syllabus of the world so that there will be much awareness of all religions in the upcoming generations.
