World Health Day observed in Larkana

LARKANA: April 8, 2011. (By Nazir Siyal) World Heath Day was observed in Larkana, in this connection a rally was organized by the Primary Peoples Health Initiatives (PPHI) and the management of Chandka Medical College Larkana also arranged health awareness seminar at Peads Surgery Department here on Thursday. The rally led by PPHI Regional Program Director Ghulam Abbas Detho and District Support Manager Mustafa Kamal Tagar. The rally started from Shahnawaz Library Larkana carrying banners and play cards, inscribed slogans creating awareness among the masses for health care activities and culminated at Press Club Larkana. The Seminar was presided over by the Chairman Peads Department SMBBMU Saifullah Jamro and other guests, citizens and the respresentativse of civil society witnessed on the occasion. Speaking to the World Health Day, the speakers said that this day is celebrated internationally because of the fact that World Health Organization come into being on this day which is working for the benefits of ailing mankind world wide. He said that we are thankful of this government which has provided all the essential vaccination to prevent disease in children. Professor Khursheed Abbasi said that more than 50 percent of the disease could be reduced by drinking clean water with proper hand washing and eating clean and fresh food. He said that to use the antibiotic medicine for recommended period and by using the standard drugs anti-microbial resistance will be decreased. Professor Hakim Ali Abro in his speech said that it is essential the aware the people of the health issues in remote and for flung areas of the country as most of the people come from the villages that are un aware of health problem. He also urged the medical practitioners to use prescribe proper drugs of proper treatment. Addressing the seminar Dr. (Cap) Ghulam Ali Hulio said that it is pre-requisite for health sector institution to maintain cleanliness in the hospitals and provided best medicines and health facility which the CMCH Authorities are providing round the clock. He said that all the diagnostic facilities are available with latest equipments in this institution. He urged for vaccination of families and children for prevention of tetanus and other related disease. While other, District Coordination Officer Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari has said that we are responsible to make friendly environment as the health activities should be promoted in human being. DCO acknowledge that the medical stores are selling third standard medicines and the concerned departments should take steps to control these issues. DCO further said that this is the duty of doctors to prescribe the proper medicine after full checkup and proper knowledge. He said that the use of unnecessary medicines is the main cause of spreading disease and problems with mankind. He urged upon the people that they should get awareness about the critical health issues and than move to the government hospitals for their proper treatment. On the occasion EDO Health Abdul Fattah Bughio said that the medicines for Malaria, T.B, Hepatitis and other disease are available in every health center of the district. He said that we are taking action against the fake and unnecessary medicines which are dangerous for the health of human being. The Principle Chandka Medical College Hospital Dr. Asadullah Mahar said that government doctors opened their private clinics for making money and pharmaceutical companies are also responsible for it. Taking to seminar WHO office Zulfiqar laghari said that 44 thousand T.B patients are increasing every year and 15 thousand people are going to death due to fake and unnecessary use of medicines.
