Muslim extremists attack a Church in Pakistan on Florida Koran burning

Islamabad: April 4, 2011. (PCP) Armed men tried to set on fire Church Building after pelting stones and attempts to break gate to vandalize in Wah city of Punjab province of Pakistan. It is third incident of attack on Churches by Islamic extremists in reaction to Burning of Koran in Florida, USA. The Islamic elements beheaded 7 United Nation workers in a protest against burning of Koran in Dove International Church in Florida. There was widespread violence in Afghanistan against burning of Koran when protesters killed more than dozen citizens in Khandhar. The Pakistani Christian religious and civil society activists condemned in strong terms the act of Pastor Terry Jones Dove Church to desecrate Koran on March 20, 2011, in USA. J Salik blackened his face in front of Islamabad Press Club as a protest against burning of Koran and urged every Pakistani to join with him on 21 days mourning. According to AsiaNews, attack took place at 6.30 pm Saturday while the security guard was absent. “The extremists hurled stones, damaged the building and tried to set fire to it, but they did not shoot.”. The caretaker of the church of St. Thomas confirmed that the attack and that they took advantage of the absence of the security guard. A group of six or seven armed men broke through a small door and started throwing stones at the windows, smashing the small lamps and tried to break the door. “The caretaker called the priest and the police, he is currently still in shock and does not intend to make statements.”
