LARKANA: March 25, 2011. (By Nazir Siyal) Law Minister Sindh Mohammed Ayaz Soomro expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the engineers and officials of provincial building, education works and other departments of Larkana regarding ongoing development works being carried in Larkana and Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto.
Presiding over a high level meeting regarding the anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on April 04, Law Minister Sindh Mohammed Ayaz Soomro infuriated over the poor performance by the district administration and concerned departments during the visit of Chief Minister Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah, who took notice of unhygienic conditions of the city and damaged portions of different roads, which were not maintained accordingly.
He said that the Rs. 100 million have been released by the federal government for the construction and development of Lawyers colony at Airport Road Larkana. He emphasized on the officials to complete the work within the stipulated time and ensure the quality of development work he said.
Law Minister and President PPP Larkana district Ayaz Soomoro said that the complaints of public regarding the provision of contracts to their favorite contractors by the concerned Engineers will be enquired, adding that he has received the complaints about the corruption and mismanagement of contracts by the concerned officials.
Mr. Soomro said the enough is enough several schemes are incomplete and misused funds elsewhere, further slackness of concerned officials will not be tolerated and dealt with an enquiry and action.
He further said that the construction of Law College with the cost of Rs. 50 million is underway, which will be completed before the August 2011, he also announced for the Auditorium Hall in the name of Barrister Shahaeed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Law College on the occasion.
He said since 13 years the Larkana was treated like step mother and ignored Larkana in various developments, he also reviewed ongoing development works as well as issued the directives to expedite the work on development schemes in Larkana and Garhi Khuda Bux.
Law Minister Sindh told that Rs. 25 million have been received for the development of model town at Garhi Khuda Bux, the concerned department will start work on.
He told that the forest department will plant the samplings of trees and at the both sides of entry points and both banks of Rice Canal Larkana.
Later, the Sindh Minister visited the under construction Law College and discussed ongoing work on the different locations.
On the occasion, EDO Revenue Assadullah Abro, Executive Engineer Provincial building Mushtaq Soomro, District Bar Association General Secretary Abdul Hamid Bhurgari, Principal Law College Shahid Hussain Qureshi, President High Court Bar Association Innayatullah Morio, DO Forest Mohammed Anwer Kalhoro, Advocates and other officials were present.
