Hyderabad, Pakistan: March 21, 2011. (By Mohammad S.Solanki) A high profile PEACE delegation of Indian parliamentarians, writers, journalists, columnists, think tanks, peace and human rights activists are visiting Sindh from 17th-20th march 2011. Delegates are lead by renowned South Asian intellectual Kuldip Nair. In Hyderabad and Karachi they will attend various public gatherings, press briefings, civil society receptions, formal lunches and dinners by Pakistan based federal and nationalist political parties, parliamentarians and other groups.

Profiles of Indian Peace Delegates:
Dr. Bhalchandra Mungekar: He is a member of parliament (Rajya Sabha). He was vice-chancellor of University of Mumbai and also a member of Planning Commission of India. He is country’s leading economist. He was part of a socialist movement from his college days. Now he is in Congress and based in Mumbai.
Ramesh Yadev: He is based in Amritsar and actively involved with folklore society. As he is on the border, he is always at the Attari to welcome peace activists from Pakistan. He is a major force behind 14-15 August programme.
Shahid Siddiqui: He is a former member of parliament and is a vocal on the issue of communal amity. He is also an editor of Nai Duniya, a leading Urdu daily. He is involved with the movement for the peace and friendship between India and Pakistan.
Vrinda Grover: She is a leading lawyer and a human rights activist. She is also a bureau member of SAHR. She is also actively engaged on the issue of Kashmir and North-East India. She is based in Delhi.
Jatin Desai: He is an activist-journalist, a national joint secretary of PIPFPD and a bureau member of SAHR. Actively involved on the issue of India-Pakistan fishermen and other issues related to SAARC in general and Indo-Pak in particular and based in Mumbai.
Mazher Hussain: He is from Hyderabad and executive director of COVA. He is involved with various issues like Kashmir, Emancipation of poor. He is also actively involved with the India-Pakistan peace issues.
Haris Kidwai: He is from Delhi and a General Secretary of PIPFPD, Delhi chapter. He is active on India-Pakistan and Kashmir.
Bharat Modi: He is from fishing community and based in Porbandar (Gujarat). He is actively involved on the issue of arrested fishermen.
Kangkal Shanth Kumar Nikhil Kumar: He is a journalist based in Delhi.
