Karachi: March 7, 2011. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that we have always opposed selection on reserved minority seats in parliament and demanded election under Dual Voting Right but we demand Pakistan Peoples Party PPP Co-Chairman and President of Pakistan to nominate Peter Bhatti, brother of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti or any of his family member on his vacant seat in National Assembly of Pakistan. Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti was gunned down in Islamabad on March 2, 2011, due to his stance on blasphemy law by tools of Tehreek Taliban Punjab. Nazir Bhatti said that Election Commission of Pakistan can not announce any one for qualification on vacant seat of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti after petition of J Salik against prevailing Election System in Supreme Court of Pakistan on the list submitted by Pakistan Peoples Party PPP prior to elections of 2008. “I appeal to Michael Javed who heads on priority list submitted by PPP with Election Commission of Pakistan in 2008, to refuse Election Commission announcement in his favor and let make a way for Peter Bhatti or any other family member of Shahbaz Bhatti to be successor on his vacant seat in National Assembly of Pakistan keeping in view great sacrifice of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti” said Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti warned that right action will be adopted if Election Commission of Pakistan announced any one on vacant seat of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti from priority list of PPP submitted before elections of 2008. Nazir Bhatti urged President of Pakistan and Co-Chairman of PPP to nominate family member of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti on his vacant seat. “Government of Pakistan stands responsible for assassination of Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti on not providing him residence in secure Minister’s Colony in Islamabad, leaving him on mercy of Jihadists without bulletproof vehicle and insufficient security staff but giving Federal Minority Ministry to his family member can be a very little substitute” said Nazir Bhatti
