Nankana Sahib: February 24, 2011. (PCP) We would ask to please remember Gulshan Bibi in your prayers as the trial of the men accused of gang raping her continues. Gulshan was just 12 years old when she was gang raped by Muslims in Nankana Sahib. In addition to being the victim of a heinous crime, she has suffered the further tragedy of being disowned by her family because she dared to speak up about what happened to her. CLAAS has been involved in her struggle for justice for several years now and, after many setbacks and delays, a six-month case trial against main suspects Mohammad Ramzan and Aman Ullah, was finally completed this month. A final decision from the court had been due this month but now, in a further setback, the judge in the case trial was changed at the last minute and now the newly appointed judge has ordered both legal teams to present their arguments again. The next court hearing has been fixed for February 18 and we would ask that you please keep this date in your prayers, that God may give the judge integrity and lift the spirits of Ghulshan during this difficult time.
