LARKANA: February 24, 2011.(By Nazir Siyal) The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had announced a five point manifesto of PPP to promote education, provision of employment, to ensure the equality, energy and environment for the country development and working on these grounds, This he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 11th Chandka Medical College(CMC) and 4th Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University(SMBBMU) Larkana at Shah Abdul Latif Auditorium of the college, late Tuesday night. On "The Linkages of Universities and International Organizations in Providing Health Services to Flood Affectees”.
He said that we are followers of the Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto; it is our duty to follow the foot-steps of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He said that the political parties have their own agenda one has 10 point agenda and other gave 15 point agenda but the PPP will follow the party’s manifesto which consist of 5 point agenda in which the solution of the problems of poor masses was mentioned in a proper manner and we should implement the program of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto with letter and sprit.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah also said that the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari is working on the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and he has adopted the policy of reconciliation. The job opportunities were being provided to the educated youth on merit basis.
He has urged upon the young doctors to realize their responsibility, come-forward, serve the ailing humanity without wasting any time proved themselves as Maseha for the patients.
He said that the doctors should devote themselves, commitment with the patients and timely treatment under the modern scientific methods is the need of the hour and will give the positive results in the society.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah stressed the need in research work in the medical field and hoped that young doctors play their role in this regard. He said said that the participants would have an excellent opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences. He said that the people have given mandate to PPP for 5 years the opposition parties may respect the main dent of people.
The Chief Minister said that Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto always said that the people are real judges and the people voted to our party after the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
He said that the PML (N) leaders should wait and accept the charter of democracy which was signed by the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Shareef and their is need of tolerance.
Sindh Chief Minister said that Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto established Chandka Medical College and it was the desire of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto that CMC may be up graded into Medical University which was done and the name of university was made as SMBBMU ( Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University).
He said that according to PC-I an amount of Rs. 5.2 Billion is required he will request the federal Government to provide the funds in time. He announced a grant of an amount of Rs. 50 million (5 Crore) for SMBBMU Larkana. He also said that the Larkano was overlooked in past but the present Government was giving priority to provide development projects (in road sector) under Larkana development package.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah also said that the President Asif Ali Zardari was very keenly interested to implement development projects in Larkana. He hoped that the SMBBMU Larkana will prove the unique university in the country and the medical facilities will be provided to the people of upper Sindh area, he added.
The Chief Minister also said that 220 acres land was provided at Airport road for establishing the university. He also assured the audience that the problems of the University will be solved on priority basis and the bill was already passed by Sindh assembly for establishment of the University.
On the occasion Sindh Minister for Law and Parliamentary affairs Muhammad Ayaz Soomro also spoke high and reiterated to complete the mission of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and the basic facilities as well as job opportunities will be provided to the educated youth and the problems of the people will be solved at gross root level.
The Sindh Minister for local Government Agha Siraj Khan Durani also spoke on the occasion and hoped that this university will be fruit full for providing health facilities in upper Sindh area. He assured of his full cooperation for resolving the problems of the university.
Earlier, the acting Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Asadullah Mahar welcomed the chief guest and guests and pointed out the problems faced by the university. He hoped that the two-day 11th CMC and 4th SMBBMU Symposium would provide tremendous opportunity for the medical experts from all over the country to share the experiences and skills of rapidly advancing fields of Medicine and Surgery. It would enhance the vision and wisdom of all those who would be attending the scientific sessions.
Secretary Organizing Committee of the Symposium Professor Partab Rai and Registrar SMBBMU Larkana Professor Sikandar Mughal also spoke on the occasion.
The traditional Sindhi caps and Ajrak were presented to the chief Minister, provisional Ministers and other guests.
The Chief Minister also distributed shields among acting vice chancellor of the university professor Asadullah Mahar, professor Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, Professor Ibrar Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Raffia Balouch, Professor Gulzar Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Abdul Manan Bhutto, Professor Sikandar Ali Mughal, Professor Sher Muhammad Shaikh, Dr.
Hassan Ali Shaikh, Professor Dr. Ghulam Qadir Kaheri, Professor Khurshid Abbassi, Professor Saifullah Jamro, Professor Saeed Ahmed Sangi, Professor Hakim Ali Abro, Professor Atta Hussain Soomro, Professor Aijaz Ahmed Memon and the chairman and members of academic council.
Later, The chief Minister along with provisional Ministers also visited the office of SPSF student Unit at CMC and assured the students that their problems will also be solved on priority basis.
