Two Christian women forced donkey ride with blackened faces and shoe garlands on blasphemy accusation
Lahore, Pakistan: January 15, 2011. (PCP) Angry Muslim mob attacked two Christian women and beaten them unconscious when a Muslim woman on an argument accused them of defiling name of Prophet Mohammad. The angry Muslims collected old shoes and made garland of it while Muslim women brought Iron plates “Tawas” on which they cook bread and then Insult to humanity began when garland of shoes were put in necks and faces were blackened with “Tawa Carbon” of Christian women. The Muslim brought donkey and forced these two Christian women to ride and rounded them in the area.
It is not any village of Punjab province of Pakistan but its capital city Lahore where police station is not far away but non approached to stop humiliation to these Two Christian women.
On the same day, an agitation of Islamic parties was being held when leaders of Jamaat Islami, Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam JUI(F) Jamaat-ul-Dawa, Sunni Tehreek, JUP, Tehreek Khatam-e-Nabuwat and Tehreek Namoos-e-Risalat were cursing Pope Benedicts on his comments to repeal blasphemy law.
It was also same day when President Obama in a meeting with President Zardari was discussing terrorism and blasphemy law in Washington DC.
According to PCP sources, two Christian women were rescued by a Civil Society activist and they left their homes with families and went into hiding for safety of their life.
PCP is waiting for more details of incident and trying to interview victim women.
