Lahore: January 14, 2011. (PCP) Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) protest against the assassination of Salman Taseer (Governor Punjab, Pakistan) was assassinated Tuesday January 04, by one of his own security guards. The shooting took place in the Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad .Human Rights Focus demand for the repeal of Blasphemy Laws, for the reinstatement of Human Rights and minorities concerned rights in specific and for the release of Asia Bibi who was the first Christian woman sentenced to death on Nov 08, 2010.
Slman Taseer met to Asia bibi in district jail Sheikhupura and tells to media that she is a poor Christian lady and she attempted no crime against our prophet so I think she is innocent and she is not eligible for punishment. He also demands to his own Governments for her release and also demands to President , Mr. Asif Ali Zardari for her pardoned .The typical fanatic people start the agitations against this act of governor and demand to hung him and Asia till death .They mange many processions against governor and in favor of 295C. In one TV interview Salman Taseer called 295C a black law, is using for strengthen to Islamists and for their political curial aims and is danger for Christian community and misusing against them and killing many innocent people.
Governor Salman Taseer was blamed by the fanatics that he is not a true Muslim so God gave him this kind of death and the person who killed to Governor, the fanatic groups apprised him on his brave act; some throw flowers in the killer’s home and give him respect as a great man. The funeral of Governor, Salam Taseer was late because no religious leader (Molana) was agreeing for his funeral prayer because of fear by the fanatic strong groups. Then a “Molana” from their own party leads the prayer. The killer named Mumtaz Qadri said “he killed to Governor Salman Taseer because he favored to Asia and he called to blasphemy law, a “black” law, and he makes a blasphemy, so I killed him”
Asia bibi , mother of 5 children was alleged by group of women from the same village “ Ittanwali” in district Nankana Sahib objected, saying she should not touch the water bowl because as a non-Muslim, she would make it “unclean”. Later, some of the women tried to get Asia to forsake Christianity and convert to Islam and during the exchange; she was alleged of insulting the prophet Muhammad by Muslim field workers in June2009.
Naveed Walter, president for Human Rights Focus Pakistan gives a wonderful words to Salman Taseer for his great sacrifice for a Christian woman Asia Bibi . President HRFP said “We demand for the punishment to killer according to the rule and we appeal for the release of Asia Bibi. The President Mr. Asif Ali Zardai should use his right of article 45 and she have to be pardoned and finally she have to be set free but the question is, if the blasphemy laws(295B/C) will remain another innocent Christian can be alleged again and then another. We condemned this law which is a smack in a face of human rights & democracy and we demand for its total repeal” he added more.
Naveed Walter said, “Human Rights Focus Pakistan is struggling for the religious liberty and minority rights since 1994 and lobbying with all powers of minorities for their human rights & equality, against discriminations in Pakistan. He said all minority groups & human rights organizations have demand to Government for the total repeal of blasphemy laws and restoration of minority’s human rights.
