Islamabad: January 4, 2011. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have strongly condemned assassination of Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer on accusations of supporting blasphemy victims Asia Bibi. On November 20, 2010, Salman Taseer, Governor of Punjab, went in Seikhupura jail to meet Asia Bibi, a Christian mother of five, sentenced to death on defiling name of Prophet Mohammad. Governor Salman Taseer termed blasphemy law as “Black Law” and received application of pardon from Asia Bibi in jail and promised publicly to officially forward it to President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari. Today, a policeman in security duty of Governor of Punjab opened fired and sprayed 27 bullets on him from his police rifle when he was returning from local coffee shop with his friend in Islamabad. The policeman after killing governor Salman Taseer said “I killed him because he committed blasphemy on saying blasphemy law a “Black Law” The bearded killer policeman named Mumtaz Qadri was praying five times a day and famous in his home town Sadiq Abad as religious person. Sadiq Abad district is in Punjab province of Pakistan and doubts have been expressed that its hotbed of Islamic militant outfits in Pakistan. According to media reports, Islamists organs distributed “Sweets” on killing of Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer in different cities of Pakistan. Islamic Party JUP leader talking to media said that killing of Salman Taseer is just and killer have expressed true Islamic feelings. Faredd Paracha, a leader of Jamat Islami Pakistan JI, commenting on Geo TV said that no one can touch blasphemy law in Pakistan and killing of Salman Taseer is punishment to blasphemer. Nazir Bhatti said “ Minorities in Pakistan are not safe in Pakistan and Asia Bibi is under grave threat of life after killing of Salman Taseer” Meanwhile, Khawaja Rafiq, leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML(N) commenting on murder of Salman Taseer said that we will not allow any one to repeal or revise blasphemy law in parliament. The Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani have announced three days mourning on murder of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer.
