LARKANA: December 8, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) Sindh Minister for Women Development Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto has said that President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari was striving hard to empower the women folk and women of every class should play their model role in the development of the country under the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Addressing the seminar titled “Early Marriages are illegal and unjustified” was organized by the Child Rights Committee Larkana, Minister said that Benazir Bhutto was keenly interested in human development specially the women and children and she opposed early marriages and privileged the women in every sector, she always tried to provide relief and justice to the deprived class without any discrimination. The Minister also said that according to the religious and medical point of view, early marriages are creates problems by health and other social problems, added that the early marriages takes time to be mature and after effects on newly born children among the early marriages destroy the childhood and the rights and they will not be able to perform there role in the society. The Minister also condemned the tradition of Karo Kari (Honor Killing) and also said the Sindh is the land of Sufis and it gives lesson of love and affection, brotherhood and unity and we should develop us. The Minister appreciated the efforts of Child Rights Committee Larkana to organize such a seminar for awareness of people in this regard. She said that the women should ensure to marry above 18 years and there is a need to care the health of child and mother during the delivery. The Minister further said that the Government has opened Women Crisis Cell (WCC) at district level in order to provide welfare for women. On the occasion, Mukhtiar Samo, Ameer Ali Abro, Dr, Zulfiqar Rahoojo, Dr. Shaista Abro, Nazir Siyal, Imtiaz Ali also spoke on the occasion and said that there is need of joint efforts to control early marriages in the society. Later, Minister for Women Development presided over a meeting of ladies wing of Larkana division and urged upon the lady workers of party, that they should come with dedication to participate in the 3rd death Anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto on December 27, 2010. During the meeting district President Ladies Wing Shikarpur Rehana Bhutto, District President Ladies Wing Jacobabad Shama Jamali, district president ladies wing Kashmore @ Kandhkot Shabana Malik, district president ladies wing Kamber-Shahdadkot Faryal Brohi, district president ladies wing Larkana Aapa Husna Abro assured the Minister for thousands of ladies workers participation all over Larkana region and the workers will attend and participate in 3rd death Anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto @ Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto.
