Karachi: December 6, 2010. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have said that Islamic parties are spreading hate towards religious minorities in Pakistan and inciting public with their statements and protests. Nazir Bhatti said that Fatwa by Islamic cleric to kill Asia Bibi, a Christian mother of five children can not be Islamic nor human because no religion allows reward on head on any woman and furthermore on head of a woman who is illiterate and denying any remarks to defile name of Prophet Mohammad PBUH. Asia Bibi was arrested in June 2009, by Saddar Police Station on complain of Imam of mosque in village Ittanwali that Asia Bibi have defiled holy name of Prophet Mohammad. The Additional District and Session Judge Nankana district of Punjab sentenced Asia Bibi to death on charges of blasphemy on November 8, 2010. Asia Bibi is in jail and waiting for hearings of her appeal against Session Court sentence in Lahore High Court. Nazir Bhatti said “The life of Asia Bibi is under grave threats after Islamic Fatwa and cash reward for killer and it is duty of government to adopt necessary security measures for Asia Bibi and her family” “We fear that violence can erupt against Christians in Pakistan after protests by religious parties protests through out Pakistan” added Chief of Pakistan Christian Congress According to information’s and e-Mails to Pakistan Christian Post, there is wave of fear among millions of Pakistani Christians when they listen speeches of Islamic religious parties leaders in processions and on television channels. “I am surprised on decision of Lahore High Court to order government of Pakistan, not to bring any amendment in parliament on blasphemy law while same Lahore High Court ordered on my petition to repeal blasphemy law in 1998, that “Courts can not block or repeal any law but only interpret a law and parliament is appropriate forum to legislate or repeal any law” but, now how come LHC orders to block a proposed law” said Nazir Bhatti The petition to repeal blasphemy law was heard by Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Lahore High Court in 1998, filed by TS Gill advocate on behalf of Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC. Nazir Bhatti appealed to moderate Muslims in Pakistan and around World to denounce Fatwa and announcement of reward for killer of Asia Bibi to express Islam to be a religion of love, peace and human respect.
