Murder of Journalist Sultan Chandio condemned

LARKANA: December 5, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) Journalists community staged protest demonstration out side the Press Club against the murder of Mirpurkhas journalist Sultan Mahmood Chandio here on Sunday. On the occasion, protest was led by Senior Journalist Mushtaque Tunio, Nazir Siyal, Imtiaz Gorar, Asif Chandio, Zafar Abro, Younis Detho and others strongly condemned the killing of journalist Sultan Mahmood Chandio in Mirpurkhas. They appealed to Chief Minister Sindh, Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza and IG Sindh Police to take notice of matter arrest the killer of journalist and provide protection to the journalist’s community. Meanwhile, Sindh Sahafi Sanagat (SSS) Larkana district held meeting to protest the killing of Mirpurkhas journalist and condemned the government to failure of the arrest of killers. The meeting presided over by the SSS President Nazir Ahmed Siyal along with Imtiaz Ali, Badal Mallah, Abdul Ghaffar, Sarwar Gadhi, Qazi Aijaz, Barkat Ali Gadhi and others expressed deep sorrow over the incident and demanded of the Sindh government Home Department to immediately arrest the culprits. Meanwhile, Mach Katchary and Sughar Conference organized to celebrate cultural day here at Muhalla Waleed Larkana. The program was largely attended by renowned poets, intellectuals, singers across the Sindh to mark the event. On the occasion, the Chairman Abbasi Kalhora Tanzeem, MPA Haji Munwar Ali Abbasi addressing said that Sindh peoples are heirs of 5000 old civilization of world Moen-jo-Daro while culture and tradition is identity of Sindh, he said that hospitality of Sindhi peoples is symbolic identification in country as well as world. MPA Haji Munwar Ali Abbasi said that Sindh soil has been fertile to give birth to great sofias Saints like Qalander lal Shahbaz, Shah Abdul Latif Bhatti, Sachal Sani and others, he added that Sindh is well known in the world to produce great leaders of world like Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who rendered the sacrifices of their lives for sake of country and nation. He vowed that every year 4th December will be celebrated with traditional fervor to convey massage to the world that “we alive nation Abbasi presented gifts of Ajrak and Topies to journalists in recognition of their services. On the occasion, large number of PPP leaders and workers including General Secretary PPP district Larkana Abdul Fatah Bhutto,Sardar Zafar Sangi, Mozam Khan Abbasi, Ghulam Mustafa Agham, Akhtar Abbasi and others were present. Later, MPA Haji Munwer Ali Abbasi led jubilation rally from Waleed Muhalla to Press Club and arranged 20-20 cricket match here PCB ground Larkana on the eve of Cultural day and distributed the gifts of Ajrak and Topi among the Players and Journalists community.
