Sindhi Cultural Day: Topi and Ajrak Day

LARKANA: December 4, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) On the call of Sindhi Media Group is celebrating the cultural day whole Sindh scene as colorful, rallies Much Kachehari, cultural shows, sung held at different cities, towns, villages of the Sindh here on Saturday (today). According to details, hundred and thousands of women, children, students, saints and civil society people participated in cultural day. All people will wear the Topi and Ajrak for showing love. Different programmes are arranged by various people of Larkana district including with Farmers, Labourers, Traders, Business men, Shopkeepers, religious and political and national parties in connection of Cultural and Unity day. Students and teachers of different Schools, colleges and universities have assembled the cultural shows in institute’s grounds. Similarly women and students of Naudero will celebrate the cultural day and present the tablo’s by wearing the cultural dresses at town hall. In the same way Knowledge centre, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, , Social Ithad’ s, Government Secondary Teachers Association (GSTA), All Sindh Primary School Teachers Association (PTA), Sindh Tarraqi Passand Party (STP), Sindh National Party (SNP), Wattan Dost Mazdoor Federation (WDMF) will also celebrate this day along with loving kindness. In this connection, awareness walk rally was held by child rights committee Larkana against the lower age and child hood marriages here on Friday under the chairman ship of Ameer Ali Abro District Officer HRM, DCO Office Larkana, rally started from tower marched various paths and culminated at Press club Larkana. The placards and banners were in the hands of the participants. On the occasion, Ameer Abro said that in our society an educated and non-educated people fixed the marriages of their daughter under age or in child hood, which is illegal and unlawful. Child Rights Committee Larkana leader Advocate Abdul Rehman Bhutto has said that the age may be fixed for marriage of Girls and women at about 16th t0 18th years and will ban on underage or child hood. Zuhra Ansari, Rizwana Turk, Hameeda Kalhoro, Dur Mohammed Buriro, Syed Javeed Shah and others also addressed. The leaders of Shaheed Bashir Ahmed Tunio Yadgar Sangat Larkana Ahmed Ali Tunio, Asif Shah, Mumtaz Patoojo, Shabir Abbasi, Shah Khalid, Irfan and others said that cultural day is the national day for Sindh and Sindhi people, all political and religious parties would celebrate this unity and cultural day with out any disparity, because culture is an identification of the nations Topi (Cap), Ajrak (Shawl) and Patko (Turban) are cultural recognition. On the occasion, the farmers of Bhutto Estate arranged a cultural program Much Katchehry and Sughar Conference to celebrate the cultural day here at village Izat Jee Wandh near Naudero on Friday. On the occasion, large number of Sughars and Poets of Sindh presented thier poetry and cultural songs to mark the day. On the occasion, Khalid Bhutto, the former estate manager Bhutto family, Ghulam Hyder Narejo President Shehree Action Committee, Imam Din Narejo, Khan Shaikh and others were present and they were distributed Sindhi Arak and Topis among the villagers. Mean while, Sindh National Party activists Nasarullah Abro, Manzoor Abbasi, Mashooque Chinjni, Asharraf Bhutto and others support to the Sindhi Media Groups for celebrating of Culture day, because it is awareness, unity, peace and safety with Sindh and Sindhi nation and cultural day is national day.
