Sindhi writer and intellectual struggles for publication of his book

LARKANA: November 8, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) A poor prominent writer and intellectual observed protest for free publication of his book here out side the Press Club Larkana on Sunday. Ghulam Raza Memon poverty stricken prominent writer told media men that he has composed a book titled “Sooli Chanrhio Saach” in Sindhi language for three years, but he could not publish because of long term poverty. He said he also approached several Ministers, MNAs, MPAs and other notables including Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, but he could not received any help from. He appealed to the President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister of Pakistan and other Philanthropists to help in publication of his book and material for a long waiting. Meanwhile, Sindhi Adabi Sangat (SAS) Larkana chapter celebrated 42nd birth day of poet Saeed Memon here at Municipal High School Larkana. On the occasion, several intellectuals, writers, civil society representatives lauded the literary services of poet and celebrated his birth day with a cake cutting ceremony. Meanwhile, Daily wages employees of Sambara Inn took out protest rally and staged sit-in at Jinnah Bagh Chowke against their termination and handing over the historical to the district government here on Sunday. On the occasion, protestors including Dildar Hussain, Amjad Ali and others said that the decision of handing over to the district government is against the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who established historical and cultural place Sambara Inn by the PIA. They demanded that this step would not be proves favorable for the employees and promotion of hotel services, so they called for the immediate withdrawal of decision and restore their services with the Sambara, otherwise they will continue their protest.
