Vehari: October 27, 2010. (PCP) “The Police department is not giving 5% Job Quota to Christians as announced by government of Pakistan to allocate reservation in every department” said Mr. Albert Patras, a Provincial Leader of PML (N) and Executive Director SEP, in a press conference held here on October 26, 2010. The SEP leaders, Rani Barket Advocate and Liaqat Masih were also present in this press conference. The SEP leaders invited an immediate action about 5 % reserve seats in every department and said that “It is a biggest injustice that police department did not provide this opportunity to the minority although federal and provisional Governments gave notification of 5 % reserve seats” In the District Vehari seven candidates appeared in Constable Recruitment while there are total constable posts 125 in this way minority constable posts will be 6. Minority candidates fulfill the fitness, educational requirement but in the written test, there are 50% questions related to Islamic religious knowledge. SEP leaders said “So our candidates failed in written test because not had Islamic teachings knowledge being Christians“ .Only one candidate Afzal Masih passed the written test that fall in general merit. So in district Vehari no one candidate considered on 5 % reserve posts. This attitude injured the feeling of Minority and create atmosphere of hate among them. The Christian leaders demanded Chief Minister, I.G Punjab and Minority Minister Kamran Michael Human to fill posts according to Government 5 % reserve post for minority.
