LARKANA: October 11, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) The meeting of Rice Factories Mazdoor Union Larkana and other Shuttering Mistris held here for the demand of payment of poor Gulab Bhatti and allegation of cases on Workers.
On the occasion, various Representatives of Workers and labours, Mistris Union and Organizations including Goods transport Workers, Rickshaw Labour Union, Beeri Mazdoor Union, Human rights world Asian Organization and others were present.
The meeting strongly condemned the threats being issued to Mazdoors by influential people specially retired DSP and registeration of fake cases against labourers. They also said that about Rs. 84000 have not been paid by the Retired DSP and occupied on Suttering material cost about 0.5 million.
On the occasion, Manzoor Ahmed Dhamrah, Muhammad Yousif Khukawar, Gulab Bhatti demanded of high ups to take action against the accused and provide protection to laborers and remaining payment to Gulab Bhatti they demanded.
Meanwhile, The District Coordination Officer Larkana Abdul Aleem Lashari on Monday visited Darul-Aman Larkana, where he inquired problems of inmates and assured them to resolve on priority basis.
On the occasion, DCO directed EDO-CDD, to ensure quality food, which is being provided to the inmates here at Darul-Aman, as well as the repairing of damaged sewing machines may be on urgent need basis, he also distributed the food stuff among the inmates.
Lashari, also visited the rehabilitation center for physical handicapped children Larkana, the In-charge of the center briefed DCO that all 71 students from Class one to five, are enrolled out of which 45 are present in the center.
DCO stressed the need that the enrollment may be increased and he appreciated the efforts of the teachers of the center who are providing technical education to the physical handicapped children in a proper way and assured that the center building will be renovated in short possible time.
The DCO also visited the NADRA Center established at Arts and Commerce College Larkana, where he was briefed by NADRA officials that the flood affected people are being provided 700-1000 tokin and the same are being issued watan cards by the banks, in this regard three center have been established.
DCO urged upon the concerned authorities that two more centers may be extended in preparation of watan cards so that more and more watan cards may be provided to flood affectees daily and he directed the DO Revenue Larkana to ensure the Drinking Water facilities for the flood affected people at commerce college Larkana. He also visited NADRA Center at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto where he asked the problems from flood victims who were present there and passed spot orders.
