Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari has traditionally greeted Sikh pilgrims, Hindus and other minorities on the occasion of Christmas, Holi and now Baisakh
LARKANA: September 29, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) Advocate Nazir Ahmed Bughio, the member National Assembly of Pakistan has said that the government was taking steps to control prices of essential commodities; he said told that due to the demand and supply, the prices of basic items from shopkeepers and citizens should be under control and authorities to strictly monitor rates at shops.
Taking to the media men, Bughio underlined the need for making price control committees more effective. He said the Pakistan was facing a unique environment as it suffered from an earthquake, then prices shot up with a recession in the global economy and then it was hit by floods.
He said economical stability in the country was linked with political solidity, while the statement given by Abdul Qayoom Jatoi was in his own capacity and now he was no more with the government. Commenting on the current economic crisis in the country, he said the government had inherited the power crisis from the previous administration. Those talking about changes in the government will be disappointed, he said.
He said that a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking deferment of the hearing in the NRO implementation case till a review of the beneficiaries' cases was complete. Government has “not received any list of NRO beneficiaries as yet,” he said.
Responding to another question regarding resignations by certain PPP ministers, he said “jointly we have come and jointly we will go”.
