Peshawar, Pakistan (PCP) Sept 22nd: Within the jurisdictions of Yakka Tout Police Station, Zargar Abad, Peshawar Christian Worshippers were framed in a Police Case by angry Muslim mob of defunct fundamentalist Islamists’ group Sippah-e-Sahaba on the evening of Aug 18th while Christian worshippers were praising the Lord by singing hymns and Psalms with Musical instruments, said legal advisor Church of Pakistan Peshawar Diocese Advocate Sadiq James.
Tahir Naveed Chaudhary, Christian legislator and Sargodha Regions head of APMA said local Muslims harbored an old grudge against Christians over playing Musical Instruments. He added their Muslim mob framed a case against the Christian worshippers of different congregations.
Advocate Sadiq James told PCP there is no Church in Zargar Abad Peshawar therefore local Christians used to conduct prayer meeting in local Christian Community Center. Legal Adviser Church of Pakistan Peshawar Diocese also said some fanatic Muslims ripped up their cloths and went to the Yakka Tout Police Station and sued up Christian worshippers by saying that they were attacked by Christians. .
Advocate Sadiq James corroborated the news and further said that Four Christian youths were arrested by Yakka Tout Police Station but they were released later, on the request of more than 100 Christian elders.
PCP maintained through the first hand account of Sadiq James, Christians also registered a cross version against the Muslim attackers.
On the other hand Muslim men said it was time of their Taravih Prayer (During Islamic fasting month Muslims recite Quran and finish the whole Book before the end of Islamic month Ramadan) in the mosque and they have gotten disturbed by the sound of Music which is taboo in Islam, Yousaf George quoted Muslim men’s stance.
Till the writing of these lines Christian youths were released and both rival parties have reconciled, said Advocate Sadiq James.
On the evening of Aug 23rd both Christians and Muslims negotiated with each other in a Jirga (Local elders meeting in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Former NWFP) province), said Church of Pakistan’s Legal Adviser adding, the Jirga ended up in reconciliation between Muslims and Christians
