LARKANA: September 15, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) Chief Minister Sindh Sayed Qaim Ali Shah has claimed that a heavy loss of about 5.5 Billion dollars was reported in Sindh excluded the Dadu and Thatta districts, further the assessment of losses is in progress and detailed report will be submitted to the Council of Common Interest (CCI). This he said while talking to a group of media men during his visit to Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto on Wednesday. During the distribution of Watan Card through NADRA registration to the flood affectees at relief camps, Chief Minister said President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousif Raza Gilani were already briefed about the devastating flood situation in Sindh, as well as the International donor agencies. He said, President of Pakistan in this regard was keenly interested to organize International donor conference at Islamabad, in which American, Belgium and representative of several other International donors will participate and maximum help will be provided to the flood hit areas he said. Chief Minister further said that at present 7 million people were affected in the flood excluding Thatta and Dadu districts, the rehabilitation of number of flood affectees is a big challenge for the Government but we are trying best to complete the task with the assistance of International donors. He said their services in this regard will be appreciated because in the time of difficulty they provided food stuff, medicines and daily use items for flood victims. The President and Prime Minister view that an amount of Rs one Lac each family will also be provided to the flood victims, in this regard the decision will be taken in CCI meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Pakistan at Islamabad very soon. Chief Minister said that there is super flood in the Manchar lake, the way to the flood water to river Indus was identified and we are trying to save human lives from the flood water, he added that Sehwan Sharif is on high location, the height of water in the Manchar is 124 R.L while the height of River Indus is R.L 112-114, the flood water from Manchar may be flowed to Indus River but the capacity of Aral Regulator discharge is 8000-10000 Cusec. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah during the Watan Card distribution ceremony among flood affected family through, which was registered and prepared by NADRA, he said that the concept of WATAN CARD introduced by the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari as the financial assistance to the flood affected people in the first phase is a milestone step for the nation. Chief Minister said that we are implementing the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in order to provide relief and financial assistance to the flood affected people of the province. He told the audience that anti people elements are giving misleading stories against the present Government, we are come in power with the mandate of the people and Inshallah will complete the tenure of the 5 years. He said the dictators remain 10-10 years in power where were these elements at those days, he added that people rejected political elements will not be succeeded at any cost. On the occasion the D.G NADRA colonel Muhammad Khalid Khan highlighted the process of registration of the flood affected people in upper Sindh area and preparation of WATAN CARD for the flood affected people and said that we are starting the WATAN CARD financial assistance (20000) for each flood affected family from Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto today and thanked to the chief Minister to inaugurate the WATAN CARD distribution ceremony here today. On the occasion PPP leader Mr. Aijaz Laghari thanked the chief Minister and other guests / participants who have come to attend the inaugural distribution ceremony of WATAN CARDS. The ceremony was largely attended by large number of PPP leaders and workers. The chief Minister distributed the WATAN CARDS among 10 flood affectees included Zulfiqar Ali, Ali Muhammad, Abdul Haleem, Ali Kahn, Allah Dito, Wahid Bux, Mazhar Hussain, Ghulam Sarwar and others and inaugurated the NADRA counter at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto. Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the masolium of Bhutto family at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto offered Fateha at the Mazar of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto, Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto and late Amir Begum and laid floral wreath on the Mazars of Shuhada.
