LARKANA: August 24, 2010. (Nazir Siyal) GOC Pano Aaqil Major General Nasrullah on Tuesday visited damaged Aaqil-Aghani Bund near Larkana.
Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro briefed the GOC the Indus River erosion and other vulnerable points of Bund, they told that the timely action was taken to repair and strengthened affected portion of Bund on emergency basis.
On the occasion, GOC Pano Aqil visited ongoing strengthening work of the sensitive point, where, the Jawans of Pak Army along with heavy machinery busy to repair the damaged portion of dyke.
Meanwhile, during briefing they told that the elected representatives, workers of the party are also playing their role to strengthen the vulnerable point at Aaqil-Aghani Bund and Shahdadkot protective Bund.
On the occasion, GOC Pano Aqil, Major General Nasrullah also reviewed the work at embankment.
Besides, the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah along with local Ministers and secretary Shuja Ahmed Junejo visited the Aaqil-Aghani Bund late night inspected ongoing work, he directed the Irrigation Officials to ensure the strengthening of the sensitive points at Bund on war footing basis.
On the occasion, Chief Engineer Irrigation Agha Aijaz Pathan also briefed the GOC that the large numbers of stones are being dumped at the point and two more spurs will be constructed to protect from flood situation at next Bund.
The Army and Ranger personals along with Police and Labour was continue busy to strengthen the sensitive points of the Bund.
MPA Ghulam Mujadid Isran, DCO Larkana Syed Hassan Naqvi, PPP leaders Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Abdul Ghani Jatoi, Zakir Abro, Muhammad Amin Shaikh, EDO Revenue Larkana Asadullah Abro and representatives of Law enforcing agencies were also present.
