Prayers offered for flood victims in annual celebration of Church in Pakistan
Faisalabad: August 23, 2010. (Fr. Nisar Barkat) Assumption of Our Lady Parish Chak 7, Sargodha Road, Faisalabad celebrated the annual feast on 15th of August. We are happy and grateful to God that 100 children received the Sacrament of Confession, Holy Communion and Confirmation and about six hundred people attended the Holy Mass.
His Excellency Bishop Joseph Coutts emphasized children that they must grow in Catholic faith in order to combat with current challenges facing Christians in Pakistan. “Meaning of Sacrament of Confirmation is to lead our lives in the light of Holy Spirit and we must make our lives fruitful in accordance with Holy Gospel”.
During the Holy Mass, special prayers were also said for the rehabilitation of victims of heavy rain and flood in Pakistan.
