(Nazir Siyal)n Chairperson PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) Ghinwa Bhutto on Tuesday said that flood has turned devastating shape due to poor planning and slackness of the government concerned Department wrong doings and expect the worst scenario of Larkana, if the unprecedented more tides of flood came into Larkana. She expressed these views while addressing an emergency Press Conference about flood situation here at Al-Murtaza House Larkana.
She said that 50 percent flood damage and loss could have been avoided if government would have taken serious actions in this regard and not taken any measures to control more breaches in River Indus she said.
To a query about the recent visit of UNO Secretary General Banki Moon at flood affected areas, she replied that UNO Secretary General was not invited to visit Sindh and home town of Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto by the rulers.
PPP Shaheed Bhutto Chairperson criticized on policies of Present government and said that despite of pre information about up coming flood government and concerned authorities did not take preventive steps to avoid and eventuality.
She said that spill way of Tarbella Dam was not opened in order to create storage capacity. She added that same negligence was committed by Sindh government at Manchohar lake, it water was not evacuated, now flood water after submerging several city of Sindh Balouchistan are heading towards Hamal and drop into Manchohar Lake, it can pose big threats to Dadu and Jamshoro district, she said.
Ghinwa Bhutto told that metrological department had predicted about downpours and forth coming super flood but government failed to protect lives and properties of common men, she informed that so far over 14 Millions people across that country have been displaced and effected infrastructure of billions rupees were destroyed.
Ghinwa criticized on recent UK trip of President Asif Ali Zardari she said that visit was for his personal business not country she termed such trip as shameful visit during the flood threats.
Ghinwa Bhutto demanded that the investigation should be conducted against criminal negligence of concerned officials and rulers through Supreme Court of Pakistan.
She said prevailing situation is moving toward chioas anarchy, civil war masse should come forward to make new Pakistan which may have free of corruption, bribe crime and social evils.
On the occasion, Dr. Sikandar Jatoi, Inayat Hussain Umrani, Inayat Hussian, Ghulam Rasool and others were present.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah along with provincial Minister for Food Mir Nadir Ali Magsi paid visit and aerial view from Garang Regulator to Zero point of Mirokhan including F.P Bund here on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister was briefed by the Mir Nadir Ali Magsi regarding the flood situation of Taluka Garhi Khero, Qubo Saeed Khan & surrounding areas of Sindh/Balochistan and position of flow of flood water up to Zero point.
On the occasion S.E Irrigation Saifullah Magsi circle Shafqat Hussain Wadho also briefed the Chief Minister Sindh that 80% of flood water will come at Zero Point from Balochistan area and 20 percent of flood water will come from Shikarpur and Jacobabad areas.
The way of flood water is from Saifullah Magsi canal to F.P Bund via Hamal Lake to Manchar Lake. While talking to journalists Sindh Chief Minister has said that the lives and properties of the people will be safeguarded, the towns of Shahdadkot, Qamber, Miro khan and Warah will also be protected from flood water by constructing the bunds around the towns, in this regard the proposal of District Relief Committee Qamber-Shahdadkot regarding the relief of flood victims will be accepted.
The Chief Minister said that the third flow of flood water is coming in Indus River and reiterated that the heavy loss of property, houses and Lacs of Acars of Paddy crops was badly damaged in Gauspur, Dari, Karumpur, Thull, Mir Pur Buriro and hundreds of villages were totally damaged in flood water in Kashmore-Kandhkot, Jacobabad and Shikarpur districts, only 7 Lac people were shifted from Katcha area to safer places, the transport arrangement was already made by providing trucks and Buses to flood victims from their native places to Karachi and Hyderabad, besides special Train on daily basis will run from Rohri to Karachi in which flood victims will travel, the arrangements for the flood victims were already made at Karachi, cooked food and food stuff was being provided to affectees at relief camps in Karachi and Hyderabad.
The relief camps were also being established in different districts of the province and free medical treatment was being given to the patients in various relief camps of the province. The damaged houses of flood victims will be constructed & financial assistance will also be provided to them.
The Chief Minister said that the Army, Rangers & Police force was patrolling along the bunds round the clock as well as he has directed Law enforcing agencies to ensure the Law & order situation under control at any cost.
The Chief Minister said that all the vulnerable points along the protective bunds on the both sides of Indus River were being strengthened in which Army, Rangers, Police force, local Administration and party workers are playing their important role.
He said that the Shahdadkot, Miro khan, Ratodero towns are in the constituency of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the towns will be protected from flood water.
The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed DCO Qamber-Shahdadkot that the buses, trucks may be requisite for 15 days and the oil may be provided so that in the time of flood emergency as well as the other flood precautionary measures may be ensured and the decision taken in District Relief Committee may be implemented.
