Pakistani Christian community vow to support political candidates in forthcoming elections in Pennsylvania USA.

Philadelphia: August 4, 2010. (PCP) A historic conference of Pakistani American Christians in Pennsylvania was held in Philadelphia on July 31st 2010 which was attended by representatives of five different political groups as well as community/Church leader leaders for one point agenda of getting together for the forthcoming elections in USA. The purpose of this conference was to establish the importance of voting in American general election in November and to establish a strong voting block of Pakistani Christian in the state of Pennsylvania for all level of government. Conference showed a great anticipation on the issue and a representative committee was formed of 8 members who were nominated by each participant political group as well as general participants. Mr. Cornelius Mohsin, Mr. Irfan Khan, Mr. Stuwart John, Mr. Saleem Minhas, Mr. George Murads were nominated from political groups as well as Mr. Bashir Almas, Mr. Sohail Samuel and Mr. Raj Tehseen were nominated as community leaders, this committee will focus on the preparation, participation and campaign for the favorable candidates, who will be close to our viewpoint whether Republican or Democrat. Moreover committee was authorized to take two women to complete the committee, which will be added on August 19th in committee’s first official meeting of coordinators. It is noteworthy that Pennsylvania abides the largest Pakistan Christian community, said to be about 1000 adults, in East coast and probably in all of USA. This is the first time that community has agreed to disagree on certain issues but agrees to adopted a joint effort to take part in general elections.
