My soul broken and heart faints on incident of Christian Student Nurse Magdalene’s rape. By Teresa Gill
As I think of Magdalene, the Christian Nurse Trainee who was raped by a Muslim Doctor, my soul is broken and my heart faints within me. The only question that comes to my mind is,
“ Does God pervert justice ? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?” Job 8:3.
When dealing with such clear evil, most people call for justice. That doctor deserves severe punishment not for the crime he committed but for the sin he committed which can not be forgiven at any condition.
Through Prophet Amos God reminds us that He loves justice and wants us to provide justice to one another.
“Justice must flow like water, right actions like a stream that never dries up.” Amos 5:24
Justice is a hallmark of the character of God; as His representatives on earth, we should be about dispensing justice in our lives and in the lives of others as well.
Can God do unjust with anyone? No, He can never do that.
Psalm 140:12
I know that the LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.
Psalm 33:5
The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
I’ve seen many people still favoring and praying for Dr Jabbar, the rapist that God may show him the right path. They want to forgive him for committing such evil act. Such people do not deserve our prayers. They don’t know what justice is, what it means to go through all this.
Proverbs 28:5
Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it fully.
"The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern."
-Proverbs 29:7
And that rapist deserves our cursing and not our prayers.
Deuteronomy 27:19
"Cursed is the man who withholds justice from the alien, the fatherless or the widow." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
Let us all learn to do justice and justice and alone, learn to do right and seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the cause of fatherless and plead the case of the widow.
For whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.
O God, take this case in Your court and plunder them who exploit the poor and crush the needy.
"O righteous God, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure." -Psalm 7:9
