LAHORE: November 23. Thousands of Christians marched on the city roads on Saturday praying for international peace, national solidarity and religious harmony. The Christ the King Procession is an annual feature in Lahore arranged by St Anthony's Parish. It started at St Anthony's Church on Empress Road and ended at the Roman Catholic Church's Sacred Heart Cathedral on Lawrence Road, where high mass was offered. The marchers sang hymns and recited the Rosary during the procession. They carried colorful buntings; placards and banners inscribed with verses from the Holy Bible and chanted slogans for peace and harmony. The main organizer of the event, St Anthony's Church Parish Priest Dr Emmanuel Assi, led the procession. Priests and nuns from various churches, including the Protestant church, and congregations accompanied him. Students from Christian schools also marched in the procession.
