Arifwala: June 12, 2010. (PCP) A pamphlet distributed in Southern Punjab created fear among Christians in Pakistan. The pamphlet was not anonymous but written and distributed by a Muslim lawyer in which he termed Christianity, a religion of infidels and used insulting language against spiritual leaders of Christians. According to information revealed to Pakistan Christian Post, in Arifwala town which is sub-district of Pakpattan, in Southern Punjab, a Muslim attorney named Mohammad Waqar Hussian Minhas printed a flyer in which he abused Christianity and issued decree against Christians to be infidels. The Southern Punjab is hot bed of Islamic militants and Interior Minister of Pakistan Mr. Rehman Malak openly claimed that there are more than 2000 trained Juhadi in this area after talking news media visiting mosques of Ahmadi Muslims in Lahore which were targeted by suicide bombers killing 95 Ahmadi community worshipers in month of May, 2010. The district Pakpattan is also situated in Southern Punjab and few miles from village Shanti Nagar which was burnt down by Muslim mob in 1997. The incident of Christian village Shanti Nagar was first in history of Pakistan when thousands of extremist Muslims ransacked Christian property and it is note worthy that Nawaz Sharif was Chieft Minister of Punjab at that time as head of Pakistan Muslim League. During Pakistan Muslim League PML(N) regime in this tenure have been Christian villages also attacked by Muslim mobs while children and women were burnt aline. After distribution of pamphlet by Muslim lawyer in Arifwala, the Christian clergy and leaders called an emergency meeting Catholic Church Arifwala to avoid any attack on Christians life and property on June 10, 2010. The meeting was attended by Javed Sahotra Advocate - President ACCA International, Rev. Fr. Samuel, Rev. Fr. Lukas, Rev. Fr. Martin and Master Nisar and other Christian leaders. The meeting condemned contents of pamphlet and termed it as conspiracy to create hate among religious communities in Pakistan. The Muslim leaders, Ch. M. Zaheer Aslam Adv., Mian Fazal Raoof Joyia Adv., and many other Muslims also attended meeting called by Christian leaders. Javed Sahotra Advocate requested DSP Arifwala and DPO Pakpattan for inquiry to dissolve tension for peace and harmony in area. ACCA International also urged peace and harmony among Christian and Muslim in the particular area and the whole country
