Islamabad: Asif Ali Zardari has traditionally greeted Sikh pilgrims, Hindus and other minorities on the occasion of Christmas, Holi and now Baisakh
HYDERABAD/KASHMORE: May 17, 2010. (Nazir Siyal for PCP) The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Quaim Ali Shah has ruled out the impression about any change in his cabinet and said that his cabinet members were competent enough and delivering the peoples efficiently and satisfactorily. How ever he mentioned that if any flaw in any ministry emerged that would be rectified successfully. He said while talking to the journalists at Wahur, the village of syed Murad Ali shah, the Sindh Minister for Irrigation where he arrived to offer fateha on sad demise of his uncle Syed Gul Muhammad Shah, the younger brother of ex-Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Abdullah Shah.
Responding to a question about reports of any change in cabinet, Syed Qaim Ali Shah termed the reports merely as rumors and added that such reports were not in consideration and his cabinet is already delivering satisfactorily. To another question the Chief Minister said that PPP has delivered good services to the people during its 2 years period of government and that can be judged from the fact that PPP has won two seats of MNAs in by-elections in Punjab especially at times when the province was ruled by other political party. He said that popularity of PPP among the masses was being increased in all provinces including Sindh and Punjab because of its services to the people and stand on protecting basic rights of the poor people to whom it was representing. He maintained that if PPP failed in serving the people satisfactorily they (people) would have rejected them in by-elections. Responding to a question of restoration of old status of Hyderabad District the Chief Minister Sindh said that wrong turn was given to the statement of Prime Minister in which the Prime Minister clearly had mentioned that the decision would be taken with the consultation of coalition partners.
However he said that all misunderstandings created due to misquotation of Prime Minister’s statement have been cleared and the decision about Hyderabad and other pending matters would be discussed and decided in the core committee of PPP and MQM. To another question the Chief Minister Sindh who was also the president of PPP Sindh chapter disagreed with the questioner and made it clear that PPP was not getting any dictation from coalition partner and said that we the all coalition partners were taking decision after considering each other’s point of view. He placed an example and said that while taking decision about dissolution of last local government, MQM was of the view that next local body elections be conducted under the supervision of the sitting nazims but we (PPP) disagreed and even we disagreed with their opinion for appointment of political administrators for interim period. He said that we convinced our coalition partners and got them agreed with our point of view to appoint government officers as administrators which reflect that we are not taking dictation but taking decision in the interest of common people. He said that during the shortest period of two years of PPP government big achievements including NFC Award, Constitutional Package, Provincial fiscal and Rights of its resources, provision of employment, launching of Benazir Bhutto Youth Development program have been achieved and added that during next 3 years all basic issues including energy and employment would be resolved. To another question about deferment of time scale summary for promotion of teachers, the Chief Minister Sindh said that it was in active consideration and hopefully we will decide in the interest of teaching community and his government was giving top priority to the education sector.
Earlier soon after his arrival at Wahur, the Chief Minister Sindh went to the residence of Syed Murad Ali Shah, The Sindh Minister for Irrigation and offered fatiha on the sad demise of his uncle Syed Gul Muhammad Shah. The Sindh Minister for Minority Affairs Dr. Mohan Lal Kohistani and Advisor to CM Sindh Siddique Abu Bhai were accompanied the Sindh Chief Minister during his visit.
