Bhopal, India: May 11, 2010. (PCP) Fr. Anand Muttungal was received with warm welcome by the people at Bhopal Airport . A large number of people gathered to welcome him. He returned from a three weeks of touring in America as a state guest under the Inter National Visitor Leadership Programme offered by the US . The delegation included nine persons from South East Asian Countries. Fr. Anand Muttungal along with the delegation received Honorary Citizenship of the State of Montana in America . The Mayor of City of Bozeman, Jeffrey K Krauss, presented certificate of Honorary Citizenship. It is the highest honour given to another national by the state. This was conferred on 29th April 2010 in a function organized at the office meeting hall. Fr. Anand Muttungal has called it an honour to the Christians of India and Madhya Pradesh in Particular. I feel that the service that I have done is for the people of this country and very specially for the upliftment of the christens in total. He said that the visit was very fruitful, our visit included five states of America starting from Washington . We visited representatives of the Senators, elected representatives of the house, legal experts, attorneys, district judge, educationists, social activists, universities, health department officials, Government officials etc. Fr. Anand said, “their voluntarism and hospitality is remarkable. I would say that they try to live religion, they may not go to Church but they practice Christian values much more than many of us in their life. After knowing a bit of their education and health policy I must say we have better higher education facility and health facility. I told them also that the growth of India is faster than any country in the world, they have taken around two hundred years to become a developed country of this stature but India has taken only over five decades to come this state where we compete with them.” He said,” “ after seeing this I think that those Indians going for study in US are trying to migrate rather than educating themselves because we have better higher education institutions. I also noticed that Indians living in US speaks about India in a bad light, when I ask them how long they are out of India they say twenty to thirty years. I told them that you must not talk of India because India is many decades ahead of you after you left India to us to develop. So come back to India and live here, then speak of India .’ People of Madhya Pradesh has greeted him on his return.
