Karachi: April 6, 2010. (PCP) Chairman Constitutional Reform Committee Senator Raza RabbanI no felt ashamed when he presented 18th Amendment in Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in National Assembly of Pakistan and told house that name of military ruler General Zia-Ul-Haq have been scratched from constitution but not repealed laws which he introduced, like, blasphemy law, Hadood Ordinance, Law of Evidence and Compensation and other Islamic laws. Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said that if you have to scratch name of dictator Zia-Ul-Haq from constitution of Pakistan you might have repealed blasphemy law and other Islamic laws which are being used against 20 million Pakistani Christians” “The 18th amendment in Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan have nothing for Pakistani Christians and Shahbaz Bhatti, Federal Minister for Minorities is also responsible for it who failed to repeal blasphemy law endorsement in this legislation package” said Nazir Bhatti The draft resolution of 18th amendment prepared by Constitutional Reform Committee is worst shape of amendment when election for minorities and blasphemy law are not reviewed. There is only one clause for minorities “allocation of seats in Senate of Pakistan” in 18th amendments where 4 seats are allocated but who will enjoy benefit of it, only, Muslim political groups who will add number in their total by selecting minority Senators of their choice. The present Selection system will enable Muslim groups in four provinces to select four Senators. There will be Hindu from Sindh, Christian from Punjab, Parsi or Sikh from NWFP and Sikh from Balochistan. Pakistani Christian always demanded election of their representatives but there is no such issue in 18th Amendment. Nazir Bhatti said that after renaming NWFP as Khyber-Pukhtunkhawa, Christians of Pakistan will expedite their struggle of “Separate Christian Province and division of Punjab” because Pakistan have laid foundation of independent Pukhtuinkhawa by renaming NWFP.
