Professors protest against arrest of lectures in Karachi

LARKANA: March 30, 2010. (Nazir siyal reports for PCP) A large number of Larkana and Qamber-Shahdadkot participants of Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SAPLA) on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against the Karachi police torture and arrest of several professors of peaceful rally taken out for their genuine rights and issues. The SAPLA members threatened for the country wide protest on April 04, 2010 and announced black day today (Wednesday) against the Sindh government education department and police torture on professors in Karachi. The professors including Muharam Kalhoro, Ghulam Asghar Shah, Lal Bux Kalhoro and others led the protest rally and chanted slogans for the release of professors and fulfill the demands of the professors serving in their institutions. They also condemned the act of Sindh government police department and demanded to remove Minister of Education immediately. They demanded for the immediate release of their colleagues and fulfill their issues. Whereas, All Sindh Primary Teachers Association district Larkana also condemned the police torture and arrest of Professors in Karachi yesterday. They condemned the act of Sindh police and demanded of the Education Minister to resolve the genuine issues of Sindh Professors, teachers immediately; otherwise a wide protest call will be given for their rights against the government they claimed. On the occasion, All Sindh Primary Teachers Association General Secretary Sindh Liaqat Ali Dedar, Sayed Ali Raza Shah, Mohammed Aslam Dedar, Anwer Ali Bhutto, Irshad Ali Tunio, Ashfaq Dhamrah and Ali Sher Jatoi were present.
