Problem of loadshedding discussed in high level meeting of SPDC

LARKANA: March 25, 2010. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Chairman Sindh People’s development Committee (SPDC) Dr. Shafqat Hussain Soomro here on Thursday presided over a high level meeting regarding the Hesco laodshedding and other related matters here at Circuit House Larkana. The meeting reviewed and discussed in detailed problems of laodshedding in Larkana district, problems of trade union and citizens of Larkana. In the meeting Chairman SPDC said that there is a shortage of 4000 megawatt electricity in country, so that the people should save energy and the present government was taking all out efforts to meet the storage by preparing new projects in the country. He also informed the meeting that the problems of Trade Union, Associations and the Citizens are being given priority in this regard the committee would be formed to resolve the basic issues of local community he said. During the meeting District Coordination Officer Larkana (DCO) Syed Hassan Naqvi has said that the HESCO authority may realize its responsibility and provide relief to the people form 14 hour electricity loadshedding in Larkana and the complaint center may also be established at HESCO office for resolve the grievances of people of Larkana district. Superintendent Engineer (S. E WAPDA) Imdad Hussain Abro assured the meeting that the local problems will be solved within 15 days and Complaint Center will also be established under the supervision Officer of HESCO BPS-16 in Larkana. He said the list of damaged electric meters may be provided to him so that those may be replaced by installing new meters within the eight days he said. He informed that those people applied already for the new connection and meters, they will be provided meters within the two working days, he pointed out the theft of electricity in Larkana, in this regard requested local administration may cooperate with the HESCO officials to over come the problem. During the meeting President Chambers of Commerce and Industry Khair Mohammed Shaikh and members Haji Akber Ali Shaikh, PPP local leaders Abdul Fatah Bhutto, Sanaullah Unar, Taluka PPP Presidents and other officers of WAPDA also attended the meeting. They also proposed the suitable suggestions, regarding the decrease of loadshedding and said all out efforts will be made in this regard, so that the law and order would be maintained as for the local and country development they said. They also pointed out in the meeting that wrong billing should be controlled and ease the problems of people. Dr. Shafqat Soomro urged upon the Officers of the different departments that they should behave with the people in a polite way and solve the problems of people without any discrimination.
