Philadelphia: March 25, 2010. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC issued here a statement of clarification to end propaganda against him by one section of clergy in Pakistan posing him as separatist and anti-Christian. “I always demanded in Pakistan that religion and state will be two separate entities and Islamic Republic of Pakistan must scratch Article 2 of Constitution which declares Pakistan to be home of Muslims. I also believed that Church in Pakistan shall not interfere in politics but concentrate on preaching the word of lord in Muslim dominated Pakistan’ said Nazir Bhatti Nazir Bhatti said that 20 million Pakistani Christians are living below poverty line and funds for their social economic uplift are being used by Churches in politics. The Church of Pakistan and Catholic Church of Pakistan have established dummy Human Right Commissions to issue political statements. The leaders of such commissions are paid workers equivalent to western pay scales and forced to speak to international media as directed by Bishops Conference. I must present true situation of Pakistani Christians that 90% are illiterate when we have 40% Church owned educational institutes in Pakistan. “Churches never showed any interest to provide education to Christians in Pakistan but invested millions in politics to safeguard their wrong doings” said Nazir Bhatti The clergy is illegally selling Church properties in Pakistan and making millions and its pity that they settle with that money in Western countries. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC is only registered political party registered in Pakistan and speaks for rights of poor Christians in Pakistan since 1985. Pakistan Christian Congress is not foreign funded organization but runs on contributions of general Christians in Pakistan. When PCC says “ we want Punjabi Catholic Bishops” it is voice of Christians because all Catholic Bishops in Pakistan are Anglo Indian who can not speak language of 99.9% of Punjabi Congregates” Nazir S Bhatti said “I am not a separatist but a nationalist Christian and want my nation to have respect and equal rights in Pakistan” There are Muslim leaders who are demanding division of Pakistan in 12 provinces instead of four and I also demanded Christian province within federation of Pakistan, so, what’s wrong in it. I, formed Pakistan Christian Congress PCC and I commissioned Pakistan Christian Post PCP with my funds to serve my nation in Pakistan. Why you compare me with Shahbaz Bhatti or Peter Jacob who are on pay roll of Catholic Church and receiving millions from funds you provide for poor Christians in Pakistan. I am true Catholic Christian in Pakistan but want church stay away from politics because I want separation of Church from state, mean religion and state separate in Pakistan. I filed lawsuit against blasphemy law in Pakistan while Church of Pakistan or Catholic never challenged it in Pakistan. I am in exile after charges of treason and blasphemy by government of Pakistan but I never forgot my persecuted nation in Pakistan. The Pakistan Christian Congress PCC is leading political party in Pakistan and Pakistan Christian Post PCP is only voice of Pakistani Christians instead of all propoganda against me.
