Sargodha, Pakistan: March 1, 2010. (PCP) A group of seven (07) influential, rich and fanatic Muslim men allegedly ransacked homes of four (04) hapless Christians, brandished deadly firearms and opened fire on Christian families to terrorize them in a bid to occupy their (Christians’) homes at Jinnah Abad slum of Chak (village) # 45 SB (Southern Branch) within the Police precincts of Police Station Atta Shaheed located some 45 Km East of Sargodha district in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Jan 09th. Christian took to the streets, chanting slogans against the Muslim land mafia and negligence of concerned Police Officials and flocked up in front of District Police Officer (DPO) Sargodha, victim Christian families and demonstrators apprized PCP about their ordeal. Two Injured Christians were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Sargodha. Talking to PCP, a Christian demonstrator and eye witness Aamir Austin resident of the neighboring Chak (village) # 44 SB said a group of dominant, powerful and influential local landlords identified as Muhammad Sharif, Muhammad Shafiq, Muhammad Sadiq, Muhammad Shaukat, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Amjad on Jan 09th forced their way on gunpoint in to the homes of Christian residents of Jinnah Abad slum of Chak # 45 SB and sprayed bullets on four (04) pathetic Christian families and unlawfully occupied their homes, wrecked household appliances and injured two Christians critically. Talking to PCP about their ordeal, heads of four (04) victim Christians families identified as Matloob Masih, Arshad Masih, James Masih and Rehmat Masih said that during the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Khan Junajoo’s regime they were allotted residential plots No. 150, 151, 152 and 163 at Jinnah Abad slum of Chak (village) # 45 SB and since then they had been living there peacefully with other Muslim villagers. They allegedly went on saying, now a group of Seven (07) powerful, biased and rich Muslim local landlords identified as Muhammad Sharif, Muhammad Shafiq, Muhammad Sadiq, Muhammad Shaukat, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Amjad wanted to occupy their homes illegally and taking us (Christians) a soft target on Jan 09th they ransacked our homes and threw us and our household items out of our homes and occupied our homes. Matloob Masih sadly allegedly added that in a bid to occupy our homes they left two Christian youths critically injured and now they were at DHQ hospital under the observation of doctors. Replying to a question by PCP Rehmat Masih said that they complaint to the relevant Atta Shaheed Police Station for registration of a case against the seven fanatic Muslim occupants. Masih regretted that Atta Shaheed Police derelictly desisted from taking action against the rich and dominant Muslim landlords. Rehmat Masih said that during the days and nights of winter they were compelled to live either at homes of their relatives or under the open sky. A Christian rights and political leader A. Hameed Gill said protesting in front of DPO office Sargodha that they had to protest because Atta Shaheed Police blatantly averted from taking timely action against the hardliner Muslim landlords., although they were informed about the action of Muslim landlords. Gill also said that two (02) Christian youths were critically injured by Muslim landlords, Later a delegation of Christian leaders met Usman Anwer DPO Sargodha and Christian demonstrators dispersed peacefully on the assurance by DPO that a case would be registered against the fanatic Muslim men and that the land of Christians would be restored to them. DPO also assured that Muslim landlords would be apprehended, prosecuted and stern action would be taken against them by meting out them exemplary punishment for committing such a heinous crime. On the other hand doctors in the DHQ hospital said that although both Christians were still in critical condition but they were out of danger and that they were recovering fast. -Update: On Jan 17th despite the assurance of DPO to bring the culprits to the book, Muslim fanatic landlords again opened gun fire on pathetic, homeless and destitute Christian families.
