Faisalabad: February 18, 2010. (PCP) On February 12-13, 2010, Concern Lane Alliance for Rural Areas (CLARA) organized a two-day training for the capacity building of youth titled “Providing Today’s Youth with Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow” at Holy Rosary Parish Hall, Madina Town in Faisalabad, in which 48 Male and Female youth actively participated. The trainers of the workshop included Salva Rafiq (Executive Secretary-CLARA), Suneel Malik (Secretary-NCJP), Shazia George (Coordinator-AWAM), Muzammal Hussain and Babar Kamran. The trainers said, “Youth can easily turn to negativism and disruption of the social order unless they are given progressive opportunities to apply their talents and realize their gifts, therefore, Government must create opportunities for youth to develop their potentials, personalities, functional capabilities and to enable them to be productive and socially useful for the overall progress of the country and nation”. “Youth of Pakistan presents the most promising resource and a big reservoir of energy, if this energy is put to proper use, it will bring about a complete social, economic, cultural and ideological revolution in the country that could contribute significantly to economic growth and poverty alleviation, so government must invest in youth for better future of the country”, they added. The content of the training included “communication skills, leadership, youth challenges, carrier guidance, effects of unemployment on youth, income generation means & opportunities for youth, importance of education in personality & character building, impacts of smoking, gambling & other addictions on youth
