Lahore: February 16, 2010. (PCP) Millions of Pakistani Christians are shocked on release of accused Mohammad Naeem advocate on bail in murder case of his 12 years old Christian housemaid within 16 days after arrest which is shortest period in history of Pakistan under charges of killing. Mohammad Naeem Advocate is former President of Lahore High Court Bar Association and having links with ruling political group in Punjab province of Pakistan. He was instrumental in campaign to reinstate deposed chief justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan during General Musharraf and led rallies. Mohammad Naeem was nominated in First Information Report FIR as prime suspect along with his family members under section 302 PPC when Pakistani media broke news and Christian civil society organizations lodged strong protest on killing of 12 years old Shazia. National Commission for Justice and Peace NCJP, CLAAS and Church leaders issued press releases in international media run under different Christian denominations that “A Catholic girl aged 12 is raped and murdered by Muslim employer” for cheap publicity. The leaders of NCJP and CLAAS took signs from Bashir Masih, father of victim Shazia, for sole power of attorney to provide legal aid assistance. On outrage of Christians throughout Pakistan, Federal Minority Minister Shahbaz Bhatti was dispatched by President of Pakistan to earn sympathies of Christians who visited victims home in Lahore and announced compensation of 5 lacks of rupees with assurances to ensure justice. The Catholic clergy and Catholic Human Right Commission NCJP representatives accompanied Catholic Shahbaz Bhatti. Chief Minister Punjab also directed Punjab Minority Minister Kamran Michael to visit family of victim Shazia while NCJP and CLAAS leaders were present with this Catholic Kamran Mihael for photo session. But, situation was very special, accused was very influential and rich, so, Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif decided to visit family of Shazia. The CM announced 5 lacks monetary compensation and assured family that killers shall be arrested and brought to justice. Mian Shahbaz Shrif, CM of Punjab and leader of Pakistan Muslim League announced a medical board to conduct postmortem of Shazia on which Pakistan Christian Congress protested and rejected government’s medical board but NCJP and CLAAS kept silent and pressed upon parents of Shazia not to accept legal aid from PCC. The Medical Board announced same evening that Shazia was not raped and laid down first step to save murdered on instructions of Punjab government led by PML(N). The Punjab government instigated lawyers of PML(N) to come for rescue of accused Mohammad Naeem to divert attention of Christians from conspiracy being hatched to prove innocent to their active member Mohammad Naeem. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC said “CLAAS and NCJP leadership failed to ensure justice for Shazia because its leadership was not capable to tally powerful Muslim supporter of accused in government nor they acted timely to secure medical reports through higher court” Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that credibility of NCJP and CLAAS was already doubtful which is totally damaged after Shazia case and urged Asianews, UCAN, Cath News Asia and other Church run media not to publish press releases of Joseph Francis and Peter Jacob because they represent .establishments run by Christian Charities not downtrodden Christians of Pakistan.
