Historical Abu-Badar graveyard of Larkana on verge of destruction

LARKANA: February 10, 2010. (Nazir Siyal report for PCP) A historical Abu-Badar graveyard of Larkana city is at the verge of destruction, due to the hide outs of criminal and more than hundered drug addicts’ (Horoinchi) place for their activities. According to survey and reprots, when this scribe contacted one of drug addict and the representative of the class, told to this scribe that that three hundred year an old historical graveyard after Makli of Thatta district in Sindh, The Abu Bakar graveyard is situated at main Airport Road Larkana, which is among the big graveyards in Sindh, there are more than 5000 graves. After an overview and survey found that the carelessness of district administration and there is no cleanessness in the graveyard, the boundaries wall have been collapsed, graves are being demolished due to poor drainage system, the drain from the residential areas and houses around the graveyard has affected all the graves, while during the rain water accumulates and inundated all, caused the damage and ruined the historical grave yard of Larkana. On the occasion, SNP local Leader and first stage adicted Irshad Ali Shaikh told that the criminals and the number of drug addicted have sought shitter at grave yard to consume drugs and other criminal activities are at the large told. He further told that as a social and poltical his reponsiblty to aware the general public and society to take collective step for the protection of graveyeard he said. SNP local leader has also appealed the Sindh government home department and district government to take serious notice of the matter and construct wall boundary and other development works on grave yard.
