In recent times many got exposed to alcohol & drugs, and many need help, not just medical help, but also rehabilitation from this disease. Many people are still not aware that alcoholism is a disease an incurable disease and alcoholics are sick people who need love, care and moreover attention. They are unaware that due to this disease they face multiple disorders like physical damages, mental damages, spiritual, social, financial damage and this also affects family relationships. According to an official stated on 31st July 1964, the American Medical Association, Alcohol aside from its addictive qualities also has a psychological effect that modifies thinking and reasoning. In a 90-day programme conducted by KRIPA Foundation - Alcohol and Drug Addiction Rehabilitation, Bandra, they explain that this programme is based on the 12 step programme of Alcoholic Anonymous and is open to all people, irrespective of all distinctions. The Serenity prayer that is said through out the day makes the participants (patients) understand the presence of Higher Power in their midst and that it is the Higher Power itself that will help them to conquer this disease.
