HYDERABAD: February 2, 2010. (Sameer Nazir reports for PCP) The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that PPP government would fulfill all commitments made by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto with the people for their prosperity. This he said while addressing Award distribution ceremony on the concluding day on 3rd day of Annual Urs celebrations at Latif Auditorium Bhitshah.
He said that before PPP government people of Sindh were deprived from their basic rights and were helpless in every field of life. He said that people of Sindh being follower of Shah Latif were courageous and instead of going into depression or isolation during dictator period, continued struggle for restoration of their rights and to get due share of water, financial resources and jobs.
He said that today they are enjoying their rights in democratic government. Referring a wrong story about 8 billion debit against Sindh government, the Sindh Chief Minister contradicted that story and said that creators of this baseless story has ignored the fact that first time in the history it was only PPP government that passed N.F.C. Award on the basis of multiple factors and benefited the Sindh province with rupees more than 70 billion.
He said that his government has earned more for the province and its people as such they (he and his management) must be admired and loved. He said that those who are crying against PPP for rights of Sindh must admire the PPP government which has abolished the controversial Kala Bagh Dam Project and will get due share of water with the negotiation.
On the occasion, condemning the propaganda and rumors about PPP government, Sindh Chief Minister said that government was stable and to complete its tenure with the support of masses. He said that we consider our soil as mother and to preserve and project its language, cultural heritage at any cost. He said that Shah Latif has composed and preserved whole languages and culture of Sindh in his verves in addition to preach for love and affection with each others without any discrimination.
He lauded the efforts of Provincial Culture Department for establishing Research Cell for the Kalam of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) and announced an endowment fund of Rs.10 millions for conducting research on the message of Shah Sahib and Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA). He said that Sindh has privilege for having ancient and unique history of culture and added that no efforts would be spared to preserve and promote the same in the world.
The Sindh Chief Minister referring the demand made by Provincial Culture Department, announced for regularization of temporary employees who were working against clear vacancies since last ten or more than ten years. The Sindh Chief Minister also raised Mella Fund from one million to two million and Rs.one million as financial assistance for the artists.
Earlier, the Sindh Minister for Culture Ms. Sassui Palijo in her welcome address said that Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was a great visionary saint poet of Sindh, who has spoke for the poor class of people and gave them guideline through his verses. She said that it was PPP government which has launched different projects to spread the message of Latif Sahib in different parts of the world by translating his Kalam into different languages, such as Urdu, Arabic and French while the translation of Shah-Jo-Kalam into Gur Mukhi language is in progress. She said that Latif Sahib in his verses has given the lesson of commitment, patriotism in the characters of Sassui and Marvi. She said that in order to understand the message of Shah Sahib with clarify, her department has went one step ahead by launching Research Centre here at Bhitshah today and expressed her optimism that this centre would proved as instrumental source for projection of Shah-Jo-Kalam. She also listed the achievements which were made by her department within two years, which include approval of Gorakh Hill Project from Planning Commission, taking over possession of Kinjhar Lake, constitution of Sindh Tourism Department (STD), taking archeological sites of Sindh from Centre and added that now struggling for promotion of Soofism in the society, which according to her was the only solution of terrorism and hater.
She said that her management has established Research Centre at Bhitshah and urged upon Sindh Chief Minister for encouragement. She said that her department has also sponsored three chairs for the research on Shaheed Benazir Bhutto which start functioning from this year. She also informed that a Language Committee has also been formed last week with a view to promote Sindhi language.
