London: (By Hannah Chowdhry and Juliet Chowdhry) Over 2,000 homes across the UK face demolition following the discovery of RAAC, a weak and dangero
A 38 yrs old Roman Catholic Priest Fr. George Abraham was gunned down at his Perish house in the premises of Catholic Church at Renala Khurd, district Okara, 180 miles of South of Islamabad city.
According to the facts after mid night on July 4, 2003, five armed men entered in the Church boundary and were walking around Church and advanced towards perish house. Rev. George Abraham was with his cook inside Perish house. He detected a suspicious movement out side his room. To check upon it he went out alarming his cook. When the cook heard gun shoots, he came out and saw Rev. George in the pool of blood and died at the spot, whereas the culprits were running towards the main gate. He immediately called the police and Christian elders of the area. They took dead body of Rev George to the civil hospital Okara for postmortem, where the doctors declared that he got six bullets and died at the spot.
After his post mortem Rev. George body has been taken to his native Christian village Khushpur, district Faisalabad for burial.
According to the local Christians of Renala Khurd, Rev. Fr. George Abraham was very bold and out spoken. He worked hard for the upliftment of Christians in that area. He was also able to denationalize a Christian missionary school at Renala Khurd, which was not acceptable to the Muslim of that area. He was also warned several times on this issue.
Few Christians also told APMA, "There are wings of few Islamic militant organizations in that area, who did not wish Christians to be prosperous". The Catholic Church and Christian elders of that area declared this tragic incident a brutal act of terrorism against the Christians. Many of them believe that this a continuity of terrorist attacks against Pakistani Christians.
FIR has been registered against unknown perpetrators but no one has been arrested yet. Or accepted the responsibility of attack Christians of Pakistan who are already the prime target of terrorist in particular after 9/11 feel more insecure. Many Christians have been killed; many have been wounded and became maimed in previous attacks on Churches, Christian hospitals, Schools and other institutions over the past years. There is no significant arrangement of security to protect the life and property of Christians in Pakistan. This is the act of those militant organizations that are openly preaching violence and are destabilizing peace and solidarity of the country.
