LARKANA: January 19, 2010. (Nazir Siyal reports for PCP) Provincial Minister for Works and Services Department Sindh, Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said that some anti democratic elements were trying to destabilize the country and democracy but Present government will not derail the democratic system in the country and continue its struggle with support of positive media groups of Sindh.
He said this while talking to the media men here at Larkana Press Club after the visits and official meetings at Larkana and Kamberf-Shahdadkot districts on Tuesday.
Provincial Minister said the PPP government has come into power by the Sacrifice of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, we will not let any one to sabotage democratic system, such elements will be dealt with iron hands he said.
Manzoor Wassan said present PPP led government has resolved many out standing issues including NFC Award with consensus of all provinces, he added that provincial autonomy and Sindhi language issues will addressed very soon in this connection, committee headed by Raza Rabani has been constituted.
Replaying to a question about the cancellation of Sindh Public Service Commission test for the recruitment of sub engineer, Stenographer, Assistant and other vacancies in works and service department because their are 400 vacant posts in the department, while SPSC has appointed 170, and same posts will be filled grade 1 to 15 accordingly.
Mr. Wassan said that old commissioner system will be restored local government system had many flows provincial set up was more affective than district government.
Provincial Minister said total of 13000 Kilometer roads are planned to construct in Sindh with the cost of Rs. 15 billion, while the 2500 kilometer roads will be completed by current year. He further told that during the current year 18 hundred Kilometers new roads will be constructed and amongst 600 kilometers roads in the maintenance, repair and widening purposes he said. He also said the PPP government has completed more than 5000 kilometers roads in Sindh.
He further said ongoing development work of Grahi Khuda Bux Bhutto with the cost of Rs. 43 crore is in progress, there will be no compromise on quality work and present PPP government is taking all out efforts to resolve problems of poor peoples and provide relief to them on their door step. On the occasion, Minister announced 0.2 million for the Larkana press club.
